twice (years apart) I've heard the rumor that the incoming freshman class to Michigan Tech is has a significantly better ratio of guys to girls (e.g. 1:1). Both times it was far wrong, the press release was more like, "50 more females" out of 1000 incoming students, and then you have to do

all the crazy math to figure out if that's actually an improvement in ratio because the incoming class is also bigger :P
