You got it all wrong. The answer was funny becauseit repeated a keyword in the question:

Q: If my boyfriend tells me to make him a sandwich, WHAT'S A GOOD COMEBACK?

A: Well, you better COMEBACK with a goddamn sandwhich!

The two uses of the same wordhad different meanings. That's what made it funny.
